Filmmaker Anil Sharma and actress Ameesha Patel had a fallout during Gadar 2 over a changed climax and reduced role. Following that, Sharma called her 'moody' but like family, while Ameesha admitted 'creative differences' and said she’ll join Gadar 3 only if the script excites her, stressing proper contracts and Sakeena’s importance. Well, it seems the duo has now reconciled. Recently, Sharma shared some major updates on Gadar 3.
Script Locked, Shooting Timeline Revealed
During an exclusive interview with News18 Showsha, Sharma confirmed that the Gadar 3 script is complete. He said, “Gadar 3 will definitely get made. We’ve already made a commitment to the audience in the last scene of Gadar 2, where Jeete is told he’s worthy of joining the army. We ended the film with the message- ‘to be continued’.”
He added, “It won’t take another 20 years. We’re hoping to take it to the floor in the next two years. It will focus on the stories of Tara and Jeete.”
Sharma Breaks Silence On His Equation With Ameesha Patel
Further, breaking silence on his equation with Ameesha, Sharma said, “Waqt ke saath saath sab cheezein sahi ho jaati hai. Abhi sab badhiya hai! (My equation with Ameesha is great now. With time, everything gets sorted out. Everything is good now!)
Speaking on Ameesha Patel’s comeback as Sakeena in Gadar 3, Sharma added, “Sakeena and Tara are an integral part of Gadar. But we’ll discuss more about her character before the release of Gadar 3.”
Notably, Gadar 2 was released 22 years after Gadar: Ek Prem Katha and emerged as the fourth highest-grossing Indian film of 2023 after Jawan, Pathaan, and Animal.
