This year August 15 seems to be the biggest release day for the Indian cinema as movies of Akshay Kumar, Shraddha Kapor, Chiyaan Vikram, John Abraham, and other leading stars are all set to hit the theaters. Earlier Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 was also slated to release on August 15 but thankfully is out of the race because it might have suffered a bit with so many releases on one day.
Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein
Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein which also stars Vaani Kapoor, Taapsee Pannu , Fardeen Khan, and Ammy Virk in important roles will be released on the Indian Independence Day. The movie is about how friends gather for dinner and end up revealing each other’s secrets. For Akshay who is going through a very bad patch in his career, the success of this film will be a big thing.
John Abraham, Sharvari Wagh in Vedaa
Another movie that has been attracting attention is John Abraham’s Vedaa which also stars Sharvari Wagh in the role of a fighter. Directed by Nikkhil Advani, the movie is based on true events and also stars Tamannaah Bhatia and Abhishek Banerjee in important roles.
Stree 2 starring Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor
It is one of the most awaited sequels of the hit movie Stree from Maddock Films. Both the songs of Stree 2 have been well received and fans simply loved its trailer. Already the hype around Stree 2 is quite high and the movie is expected to lead the box-office collections among all the other flicks releasing on August 15.
Thangalaan starring Vikram and Malavika Mohanan
It is an action-adventure movie led by PS1 Tamil star Vikram with Malavika Mohanan as the female lead. It is set against the backdrop of British Rule in India and revolves around a tribal leader played by Vikram who assists a British General Lord Clement successfully in tracing gold in his village. By doing so he attracts the anger of the sorcerers and the story thus unfolds as Vikram fights all of them.
Double Ismart with Sanjay Dutt, Ram Potheneni
Directed and written by Puri Jagannadh the movie stars Ram Potheneni and Sanjay Dutt in important roles. It is a pan India mega-budget action movie releasing on August 15 in multiple languages and produced by Puri Jagannadh and Charmy Kaur.
