Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor’s Abir Gulaal is all set to release in theaters next month. The teaser is already out and fans are loving the chemistry between the two actors. However after the Pahalgam attack that took place a day ago many people are demanding a ban on the release of Abir Gulaal.
A few terrorists attacked the picturesque tourist resort in Pahalgam located to the south of Anantnag district. It has once again escalated the tension between Pakistan and India with the former always claiming that Kashmir is their region in entirety.
The attack has triggered a wave of anger across the country as it has been made during the peak tourist season with thousands of tourists enjoying Kashmir’s beauty. It has also once again destroyed the claims of peace and sanctity in the Kashmiri region which can badly affect the tourism business in the area affecting its economy in a big way.
Are Pakistani actors banned from working in Indian cinema?
More than a decade earlier a big lot of young Pakistani artists were regularly seen collaborating with Indian production houses and superstars. From Mahira Khan working with Shah Rukh Khan in Raees, to singers like Atif Aslam, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan singing for big stars like Ranbir Kapoor and Salman Khan, such Indian collaborations with Pakistani actors was very much normal.
Demands to Ban Fawad Khan & Vaani Kapoor 'Abir Gulaal' are growing stronger in response to the outrage over the Pahalgam attack.

But all this came to a halt when in 2016 Pakistani militants attacked an army base in Uri. That is when the Indian film industry, especially Bollywood decided to stop working with Pakistani artists, and the ban was made concrete by an official announcement from the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) in 2019.
So in that sense Fawad Khan’s return to Bollywood films was not expected. Abir Gulaal is scheduled to release world-wide on May 9 and with the social media users calling for a boycott on its release in India it may not be able to reach the Indian theaters anytime soon.
