BTS member Jin, who enlisted in December 2022, has now completed his compulsory military training. His discharge ceremony was an emotional event, not only for Kim Seok-jin but also for the fans who eagerly awaited his return.
Videos from the ceremony show Jin wiping his tears as he left the military camp has gone viral.
BTS leader RM was the first to welcome the uniform-clad Jin, presenting him with flowers and performing their Grammy-nominated song "Dynamite" on the saxophone. Jin then reunited with fellow members J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. Although Suga couldn’t join the ceremony, he planned to meet Jin later in the day.
Despite the agency, BigHit Music, requesting fans not to gather outside the camp to avoid inconvenience, the OT7 members reunited to celebrate Jin’s discharge. They had all applied for a day off for this significant event. BigHit Music's statement on Weverse advised fans to refrain from visiting the site and to send their warm regards in their hearts.
Jin’s return coincides with BTS' anniversary, marking 11 years since their debut on June 13, 2013. To celebrate, Jin will meet a few lucky fans at a special event organized by BigHit Music. The event includes a meet and greets and hugs, with one session streamed on Weverse for a paid amount.
A photo of the OT7 members, shared on X, shows Jin in the center with a bouquet, surrounded by RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook. Suga, who missed the ceremony, joined them later. The group posed with a cake and a “Jin is Back” message during Jin's Weverse live session.
In his live session, Jin admitted to crying twice during the day, especially when his juniors, with whom he spent 1 year and 4 months, sobbed. The emotional reunion of BTS members at Jin’s discharge ceremony was a heartfelt moment for all.
