Ranbir Kapoor's highly anticipated film, 'Animal,' has generated immense buzz since the release of its intriguing teaser. The star-studded cast, including Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is leaving no stone unturned in promoting the film. Recently, the team visited Bengaluru, where they engaged in a lively press meet, addressing various controversies surrounding the movie.
One prominent question raised was about the film's extensive runtime, clocking in at a staggering 201 minutes, making it one of the longest Indian films ever produced. Ranbir Kapoor responded to this query with a heartfelt explanation, emphasizing that the decision wasn't rooted in arrogance but was driven by the narrative's demands.
"We are releasing a film this long not because we feel arrogant about it. We felt that the story required that time to reach the audience in the best way possible," shared Ranbir Kapoor on behalf of the team.
He revealed that an earlier cut of the film was a whopping 3 hours and 49 minutes, which was deemed entertaining. Sandeep Reddy Vanga, the director, dedicated extensive effort to trimming the runtime while ensuring the essence of the story remained intact.
"We are hoping that the audience doesn't get panicked by the length and experience cinema at its best," reassured Ranbir.
Rashmika Mandanna, who plays a pivotal role in the film, chimed in, shedding light on the complexity of the characters and the intricacies of the narrative.
She expressed, "If you enter the world of Animal and understand the psyche of people in it, you will understand that the film needs this much time. Also, the film is so strong and holds so well that I don’t think that the length is something to worry about."
Ranbir Kapoor concluded by assuring the audience that 'Animal' would be far from a boring experience, promising an engaging and immersive cinematic journey.
