Diljit Dosanjh has triggered a storm after deciding to work with Pakistani actress Hania Amir in his upcoming movie, Sardaarji 3. Currently, he is aggressively promoting the film despite a huge uproar from the film fraternity. From famous singer Mika Singh to B Praak, everyone has slammed Diljit Dosanjh for working with a Pakistani actress.
Diljit Dosanjh tries to justify working with Hania Amir
During his recent interview, the Good Newwz actor said, “Jab yeh film bani thi tab tab toh situation sab thik tha. Matlab jab humne yeh sab shoot kiya February main shoot kiya. Tab situation thik thi. Sara kuch sahi chal raha tha. Toh bahot sari badi cheeze hamare haat mein nahi hai. Toh producers’ ne yeh decide kiya ki ye film obviously ab India toh nahi lagegi toh overseas release karte hai.”
“Toh obviously inka bahot paisa laga huwa hai aur jab yeh film ban rahi thi tab aisa kuch tha nahi. Already loss.. unke dimag mein hai ki loss toh hoga hi. Kyunki ek territory aap minus karr rahe hai. Toh maine bhi jab film sign ki thi tab toh sab thik tha. Toh ab situation hamare haath mein hai nahi toh bahar release karna chahte hai toh bahar karenge,” Diljit Dosanjh added.
Why did Diljit sign a movie with a Pakistani actress?
While the Indian film fraternity had officially stopped working with Pakistani artists after the Pulwama attack in 2019, things became more serious when recently terrorists killed 26 innocent people in Pahalgam. It led to a serious war between India and Pakistan that lasted for a few days. In such a scenario, neither an Indian actor nor any artist was expected to work with a Pakistani artist.

Even the Fawad Khan and Vaani Kapoor movie titled Abir Gulal which was supposed to release on May 9 in India was pulled off after the war between the two countries. Amid such tense moments when India has repeatedly said that Operation Sindoor is paused and not over, fans feel that Diljit Dosanjh was wrong in not only working with the Pakistani actress but also promoting the movie so aggressively.
Fans call out Diljit for playing victim card
A Reddit user slammed the singer, actor, and producer saying, “This victimization won’t work because there are plenty of Punjabi or Sikh actors, singers, producers, etc who are doing well and have plenty of fans.” Another user said, “Seriously i had to unfollow after all this mess. Couldn't watch his face.”
Although Diljit Dosanjh is playing his victim game once again, it seems not only the Indian audience but even the film body is not with him and has said that it will ensure that Diljit Dosanjh does not get any work from the Indian film fraternity.
