Famed Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh, during his Chandigarh concert on December 14, announced that he will not perform in India until the concert infrastructure is improved.

The decision took his fans by surprise and sparked widespread reactions. The singer, currently on his 'Dil-Luminati' tour, has performed in various cities including Jaipur, Pune, Bengaluru, Delhi, and Hyderabad. Videos of his announcement quickly went viral, garnering both support and criticism.

Incidentally, during the Chandigarh show, fans climbed trees to catch a glimpse of the star, which likely caught his attention. Highlighting the lack of proper infrastructure for live shows in India, Diljit stated, "This is a big revenue-generating space and provides livelihoods to many.

However, the infrastructure is not adequate for such events."In his statement, he also mentioned his desire to perform with the audience surrounding him for a better experience, adding that he would refrain from holding any more concerts in India until these conditions improve.

Fans supporting him wrote comments like: “This should pressure authorities to ensure better facilities. We need more voices” and “It sounds like a good decision”. However, many were critical and stated that things may take time to improve and suddenly cancelling concerts was not a good idea.

“Is this a joke? Why should all suffer because someone went up a tree?” wrote one disappointed user under the comments of a clip of the statement shared on Instagram. Others followed with: “Absolutely ridiculous, things take time” and “Done I won’t attend your concerts anywhere else”.
