In the age of screenshots and savage subtweets, a single Instagram ‘like’ can ignite an online firestorm and this time, it’s Varun Dhawan caught in the crosshairs.
The ‘Baby John’ actor has raised eyebrows after liking a controversial video by self-styled critic Kamaal R. Khan (KRK), where Saiyaara star Aneet Padda was trolled for allegedly calling paparazzi to the airport and then acting coy before the cameras.
KRK’s Dig at Aneet: “Drama Shuru Kar Diya Hai”
In the video shared by KRK, he says, “Film hit ho gayi hai toh Aneet ne drama karna shuru kar diya hai… Jab aapko sharam aati hai, toh aapne media walon ko paise deke wahan kyu bulaya?” The post gained traction quickly, especially after fans noticed that Varun had liked it — despite not following KRK on Instagram.
The page RedditBollywood was quick to post a screenshot of the like, suggesting Varun may be harboring resentment after reportedly being passed over for the lead role in Saiyaara, which eventually went to newcomer Ahaan Panday.
“Algorithm Blame Game” Continues
While Varun has since unliked the post, netizens had a field day. One joked, “Now Varun will also blame Instagram algorithm like Virat Kohli and Tamannaah Bhatia.” Earlier this year, both Kohli and Tamannaah cited accidental likes due to the app’s algorithm after their own social media slip-ups went viral.

Coincidence or Subtle Shade?
Was it a harmless scroll, a rogue algorithm, or something deeper? Whether accidental or intentional, Varun’s fleeting interaction has only added more drama to the already buzzing world of Saiyaara. One thing’s for sure, fans are watching every click.
