Yash Raj Films (YRF)'s Dhoom franchise is one of the first franchises of Indian cinema. While social media has been abuzz about Dhoom 4 recently, fans have come up with different speculations regarding the cast. While Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra are expected to reprise their respective roles of Jai Dixit and Ali, Shah Rukh Khan and Ranbir Kapoor's names are at the top of the list,  prepared by fans, as the antagonist. Though social media is abuzz with various speculations, YRF is yet to clarify. However, as per the latest buzz in the industry, YRF has picked its present favourite director Ayan Mukerji for Dhoom 4.

A scoop by Bollywood Hungama suggests that the makers are already on Dhoom 4, the fourth instalment of the Dhoom franchise. As per the report, a close source to the development revealed that filmmaker Aditya Chopra is developing Dhoom 4 with Sridhar Raghavan and Vijay Krishna Acharya as the core set of writers. Meanwhile, Chopra is keen to bring in YRF's present favourite director Ayan Mukerji.

The source was quoted as saying, "Aditya Chopra is very happy with the footage shot for War 2 and has verbally discussed his intent of making Dhoom 4 with Ayan Mukerji."

Further, the source added, "Ayan is also charged up with the idea, but has his baby, Brahmastra also lined up. He has requested some time from Aditya Chopra, as he wishes to focus on War 2 at the moment, and then discuss the future of Brahmastra with Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Jio Studios, before committing to Dhoom 4."

Furthermore, the source said that the Dhoom franchise remains close to Chopra's heart as he is aware of its power. Though Chopra is currently focused on YRF Spy Universe and developing War 2, Alpha, Pathaan 2 and Tiger Vs. Pathaan, he is well aware of the value of Dhoom franchise and wants to bring it at the right time.

"His mind is all focused on creating Dhoom 4 with the best talents of India," added the source.

While Ayan coming on board as director is unclear, there is no information about the cast as well. If the information revealed by the source is considered, an actor from the South industry might be roped in as the antagonist. Well, after Jr NTR's Bollywood debut with War 2 alongside Hrithik Roshan, such a possibility may not be ignored.

Ever since the announcement of YRF Spy Universe with Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham's Pathaan, the excitement and expectations of fans are getting higher. Meanwhile, the Spy Universe is getting bigger with the inclusion of Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif's Tiger franchise and Hrithik Roshan's War. While excitement for War 2 and Pathaan 2 remains high, the recent inclusion of Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh's Alpha has elevated the thrills. However, before Spy Universe, it was the Dhoom franchise that set a benchmark in Bollywood. After three instalments of the franchise, reports have been abuzz about Dhoom 4.

While there is no official update from YRF in this regard, moviegoers speculate that after Aamir Khan, SRK will take up the role of antagonist in Dhoom 4. However, several others also speculate that Salman Khan and Ranbir Kapoor are also possible contenders.

Meanwhile, a few others have urged the makers to bring back John Abraham and Hrithik Roshan.

A couple of days ago, social media was abuzz that a big update regarding Dhoom 4 will be announced on August 27. A day after the speculated date, on August 28, surfaces this scoop. Well, fans need to wait for an official confirmation from the makers.
