The much-awaited Odia film ‘Delivery Boy 2’ has been released to packed cinema halls across the state, marking the return of a popular franchise that first resonated with audiences two years ago.
The film premiered in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday evening in the presence of its cast, director, producer, and crew members, drawing strong anticipation following the success of the first instalment.
Tackling Social Issues Through Storytelling
While ‘Delivery Boy 1’ highlighted the struggles and dedication of gig workers and delivery agents, the sequel builds on that foundation by focusing on how misinformation and fake news affect individuals and communities.
The narrative blends elements of suspense, drama, and family conflict, using a socially relevant theme to anchor its storyline and is coupled with the top-notch production quality of Tarang Cine Productions.
Further, actors Sailendra, Archita, Buddhaditya, and Sritam Das play lead roles in the movie, which promises a layered plot highlighted by strong performances and impactful messaging.

Voices from the Cast
Speaking at the premiere, actress Archita Sahu shared about the human angle at the heart of the story.
“At times, the delivery agents get stuck in traffic, and the delivery gets delayed. But it is okay; we can eat our food even if it is five minutes late. However, when we provide a negative rating, the earnings of that agent are impacted. We must be sensible as customers. This movie spreads awareness on this, and everyone watching it will realise the ground reality and hard work done by the delivery agents to earn a livelihood,” she said.
Actor Sritam Das described the film as a mainstream entertainer with depth. “This movie packs a genuine family drama filled with thriller and suspense. It is a genuine crowd-puller,” he remarked.
Buddhaditya Mohanty, another lead, placed the sequel in the context of the larger franchise. “From food, clothes, electronics, to daily-use items, delivery agents deliver anything and everything. We had highlighted this aspect of their hard work in ‘Delivery Boy 1’. This movie is a direct sequel, releasing two years after the first, and it goes five steps ahead with its original screenplay and a long list of stars,” he said.
Audience Reception and Outlook
With audiences already filling theatres on the opening day, expectations are high that ‘Delivery Boy 2’ will replicate and possibly surpass the success of its predecessor.
Combining socially conscious messaging with commercial storytelling, the film aims to strike a balance between entertainment and awareness, positioning itself as one of the major Odia releases of the year.
