The much-anticipated third instalment of the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise is set to begin filming soon. Kartik Aaryan surprised fans by announcing Vidya Balan's return as Manjulika, sharing a montage featuring his dance from Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and Vidya Balan's iconic performance from the original movie.
Kartik Aaryan took to Instagram, expressing excitement about Vidya Balan's comeback, stating, "Super thrilled to welcome @balanvidya ❤️This Diwali is going to be crackling."
Soon after the announcement, speculations started that Akshay Kumar might also star in the upcoming movie. However, Director Anees Bazmee clarified that Akshay Kumar is not part of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
In an interview to Zoom, he said, “No, Akshay is not a part of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. I am dying to work with him, but unfortunately, I have not been able to script a film where we could work together. In future, certainly yes.”
Bazmee also revealed that the shooting for Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 will tentatively start on March 10, but the exact date is yet to be confirmed.
Talking about collaboration with Vidya, Anees recalled that Vidya had agreed to do a 3-day role in his film Thank You. “Look, Vidya had agreed to do a 3-day role in my film Thank You. I remember calling her, and she took no time to give her nod of consent. I don’t know why, but I can never forget that gracious gesture. It all started from there, and here I am today, ready to go on the set.”
Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 featuring Kartik Aaryan, Kiara Advani, and Tabu in lead roles was a perfect Bollywood horror comedy. It was released in 2022 and was a massive success, grossing over Rs 180 crore in India.
