While Pushpa: The Raj has already established supremacy across India, more such big-budget megastar movies are scheduled to hit the theaters this year. Be it Radhe Shyam, KGF 2, RRR, or Beast, all these movies have a scintillating star cast and big directors behind them and are expected to rock the box office. But which movie has created the hype to the highest level?
While KGF fans will definitely say that their Rocky Bhai-led flick is the most-awaited one, the anticipation for all the other three movies is almost equally high. To get a good idea of exactly how many fans are eagerly awaiting the release of either of these movies, PVR Cinemas more than a week ago conducted a poll on Twitter asking the movie viewers to vote for the movie they are highly excited about.
As expected, die-hard fans excitedly voted for their favourite movies. And the results are surprising.
Thalapathy Vijay’s upcoming movie with Pooja Hegde has emerged as the winner here with 51% of Twitter users saying that they are most excited to watch Beast as compared to KGF 2, RRR, and Radhe Shyam in PVR Cinemas.Prabhas and Pooja Hegde’s movie Radhe Shyam scored the least votes- 12.7% whereas SS Rajamouli’s RRR and Yash’s KGF 2 were placed at second and third position with 20.6% and 15.3% votes respectively.
Interestingly, as compared to the other three movies, the hype around the Prashanth Neel-helmed sequel of KGF has been quite high but even then it received comparatively very low votes. This makes one question whether the social media hype is really real or fake and can it really decide whether a movie is going to be a big hit or not.
The debacle of Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s much-awaited 83 last year was shocking since the producers waited for two years to release it in theaters with the hope that it will be a massive hit. Interestingly, the hype around it was also pretty high with the director and the actor promoting it in a big way even in South India. Even then it failed to attract the audience to the theaters.
