There have been many incidences in the past that have time and again revealed the darker side of the B-town which remains shadowed under the arch lights of glamour.

Be it Sanjay Dutt’s open acceptance regarding his addiction to drugs, Kangana Ranaut’s candid confession of having a history of drug abuse, Abhay Deol’s tryst with drugs, Fardeen Khan’s arrest, and Gauri Khan being stopped at airports for drug possession, or the very recent death of Sushant Singh Rajput under suspicious conditions due to drug abuse, this list is endless.
A few like Mamta Kulkarni, reportedly holed up in Nairobi, were also issued warrants following recovery of drugs worth Rs 2,000 crore allegedly belonging to her husband and top drug smuggler Vicky Goswami. Everyone in Bollywood is well aware that dope plays an important part in the close and private parties of the A-listed families in the B-town. But no one ever openly came out to speak about the evil.
Even newcomers, who were trying their best to succeed and get an entry in the elite circuit of Bollywood, indulged in substance abuse hoping that it will take their career further.

The death of SSR and the involvement of NCB in the investigation brought to the fore and confirmed that Bollywood does have a network of people who regularly indulge in drugs. Apart from small choreographers of reality shows to famous comedians like Bharti Singh and then big superstars like Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, and Rakul Preet Singh, NCB dug out tracks and traces of the hidden drug nexus of Bollywood.
A video of Karan Johar that showed Malaika Arora, Arjun Kapoor, Vicky Kaushal, Ranbir Kapoor, and many other celebrities in a state of intoxication triggered a lot of uproar with many alleging that all these celebrities were under the influence of drugs.
Jaya Bachchan’s Statement Surfaces Again After Aryan Khan’s Arrest
Last year when Kangana Ranaut was attacking Bollywood after the death of SSR and arrest of Rhea and Showik Chakraborty in a case related to drug trafficking and Bhojpuri star Ravi Kishan also made a statement that the truth should come out, Jaya Bachchan tried to throw her hat behind Bollywood.
She indirectly taunted Kangana and Ravi Kishan saying “Jis thali mein khate hain usme chhede karte hain.” Now after Aryan Khan’s arrest in a drug case, netizens trolled the veteran actress for her biased stand.
Surprisingly, there has been no reaction from the Bachchans in connection with Aryan’s arrest. On the other hand, Shweta Bachchan was one of the few from the well-known Bollywood families to support Rhea Chakraborty by sharing the quote on the Jalebi actress’ T-Shirt -Roses are red/Violets are blue/Let's smash patriarchy/ Me and you.”
Hrithik Roshan Has Been Diplomatic in His Support to Aryan Khan
While Suniel Shetty and Hansal Mehta have openly come out in support of Aryan, Hrithik has shared a diplomatic post which neither confirms nor denies the fact that what Aryan did was wrong. Years ago, Gauri Khan was stopped at Berlin airport for possession of drugs but was not arrested because the amount was very small.
Sherlyn Chopra, last year, shared that she had seen wives of big stars snorting cocaine during a post-IPL-match party.
Instead of supporting Aryan by saying, “He was at the wrong place at the wrong time”, it is time Bollywood families start introspecting. It is time that they accept that what they are doing is wrong and try to mend their ways or else their new generation will be destroyed.
