The last episode of Anupamaa saw Anu helping out her daughter Pakhi after Kavya ditches her at the last moment. Pakhi apologises to her mother in front of the entire family and the dance school. But she is disheartened when the teachers say that her performance will not be considered a part of the competition as she changed her partner. But later on, they decide to accept it.
It is a win-win situation for both Pakhi and Anupama as the latter wins a prize for her performance with her student whereas Pakhi also receives the best performance award. While the entire Shah family is happy with this win, in the upcoming episode Paritosh aka Toshu will add a nasty twist to this happiness.
Toshu will disrespect Anu saying that he is ashamed of his mother and does not want her to meet his friends. He humiliates Anupama saying that his dad was right to call his mother a box of spices. This statement of Toshu hurts Anu a lot. But for a change, it is Vanraj who will come to her rescue and will harshly slap his son. He will then grab his son by the collar and pick him up and tell him that the land below his mother’s feet is Jannat.

Vanraj scolds Paritosh strongly and asks him to behave properly and learn something from the mistakes he has been making. After this incident, Bapuji will get worried as he will come to know that his grandchildren are not happy staying with their parents. He will tell Baa that their grandchildren do not want to stay with Anupamaa and Vanraj and so they should also follow the same and leave their children alone.
When Vanraj and Anupama overhear this conversation between Bapuji and Baa, they get shocked and very much worried as to how they can convince their children to stay with them and also persuade the elders from leaving the house.
