A few days after a ‘deepfake’ video of national crush Rashmika Mandanna went viral, a fresh new video featuring the ‘Animal’ actress has once again taken social media by storm.
However, the clip isn’t vulgar alike the first viral video. The video shows Rashmika’s face morphed over another girl’s face. The video is of another lady and was created by using an AI technology called deepfake.
This isn’t the first time, the face of an actor has been morphed with the original. Earlier, several morphed videos of late actor Sushant Singh Rajput had gone viral on social media.
Such incidents signal the misuse of artificial intelligence to spread misinformation and malign someone’s image. Earlier, Rashmika had reacted to the video and stated ‘it was extremely scary’ expressing concerns over misuse of technology.
Now, days after Rashmika’s deepfake video went viral, the Delhi Police registered an FIR against unidentified people under section 465 (punishment for forgery) and 469 (forgery to harm reputation) of the Indian Penal Code.
Meanwhile, the Indian government has also issued stern reminders to social media platforms, highlighting the legal provisions governing such deepfakes and the associated penalties.
On the professional front, Rashmika is gearing up for the release of her upcoming movie 'Animal' alongside Ranbir. Fans are super excited to see both Rashmika and Ranbir as they are going to share the screen space for the first time.
The movie, directed by 'Kabir Singh' fame director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is scheduled to release on December 1.
