A video from a stage event in Lucknow has gone viral, creating a stir in the Bhojpuri film industry. The clip appeared to show singer and actor Pawan Singh touching his co-star Anjali Raghav inappropriately during the promotion of their song Saiya Seva Kare. The video triggered strong reactions online, with Anjali eventually breaking her silence on the matter.
Pawan Singh Issues Clarification
Amid mounting criticism, Pawan Singh responded to the controversy through an Instagram story. He wrote that he never had any wrong intention and expressed regret if his behaviour had caused Anjali discomfort.
Singh stated, “Anjali ji, vyasth schedule ke kaaran main aapka live dekh nahi paaya. Mujhe jab iss baat ki jaankari huyi, toh mujhe bura laga. Mera aapke prati koi bhi galat intention nahi tha kyuki humlog kalakaar hai. Iske bawajood, agar aapko humari kisi bhi vyawahaar se takleef hui ho toh uske liye main shama prarthi hoon." (sic)
Anjali Accepts Apology
Responding to his statement, Anjali Raghav confirmed that she had accepted Singh’s apology. She said:
“Pawan Singh ji ne apni galti ki maafi mangi hai. Wo mujhse bade hai aur senior artist hai… maine unhe maaf kar dia hai… mai is baat ko aur aage nahi badhana chahti. Jai Shree Ram.” (sic)
Actress Earlier Considered Quitting Industry
Before the apology, Anjali had revealed that she was disturbed by the incident and even contemplated leaving the Bhojpuri industry. On Instagram, she shared that she was subjected to trolling, memes, and repeated questioning following the viral video.

Adding to the controversy, Singh also shared a cryptic post on Instagram with a caption that read: “एक कहावत है- जिस तन लागे सो तन जाने, कोई न जाने पीर पराई।” (Only the one who suffers knows the pain; no one else can truly understand another’s suffering.)
Meanwhile, Singh’s personal life also drew attention after his second wife, Jyoti Singh, posted an emotional note on Instagram. She alleged that the actor had been neglecting her for months, ignoring her calls and messages. In her message, Jyoti claimed that his indifference had left her with thoughts of 'nothing but self-immolation'.
