At the Filmfare Awards 2024, held on Saturday and Sunday, Ranbir Kapoor took home the ‘Best Actor’ trophy for his stellar performance in Animal. The movie helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, also featuring Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, and Triptii Dimri, additionally won six trophies in different categories.
While the 69th Filmfare Awards turned memorable for RK, his wife Alia Bhatt, his family, and fans, the Brahmastra actor recently shared some interesting details about the sequel of the blockbuster movie.
Fans are well aware that following the roaring success of Animal at the box office, a sequel to it was announced. Even the movie concluded with a hint of the sequel. Though Animal received mixed responses from a section of the audience and critics, all eyes are on the updates of Animal Park.
Recently, Ranbir shared some interesting details about Animal Park during an interview and also talked about how Animal has triggered a healthy conversation in society.
During a conversation with actor Anubhav Sinha for Netflix India, RK revealed that Animal’s story was unknown to many during its production.
Further, he also stated that neither Bobby nor Anil had any idea about the story. Anil was aware of the father-son story only. But, there were many aspects where Sandeep Reddy Vanga was very secretive about his script.
Talking about Animal Park, the sequel, Ranbir said, “He (Sandeep) has one or two scenes ready, which he narrated to me, and they are very exciting. Now, because of the success of part one, he has the confidence and courage to go even darker and deeper, and more complex. He can do anything.”
Well, Animal’s story ended with a small introduction of Aziz who exactly looks like Vijay (Ranbir). Aziz is a professional butcher and has taken a vow to take revenge for his brother Abrar's (Bobby Deol) death. Aziz has a plastic surgery done so that he looks exactly like Vijay.
The sequel will probably focus on Aziz’s avenge story and how Vijay takes him down. Certainly, Animal Park would be about Ranbir vs Ranbir. However, the movie will be darker, more complex, and deeper than Animal. As Sandeep remained secretive with Animal’s plot, he will continue the same with Animal Park which can’t be predicted.
While Animal faced lots of criticism for showing toxic masculinity, Ranbir has a different perspective. As per RK, it was beneficial as the movie has triggered a ‘healthy’ conversation in society.
RK said, “There is a very healthy conversation that has started about toxic masculinity also, which is a great thing because cinema, at least, it starts a conversation. If something is wrong, if you don’t show that it is wrong, and unless conversation starts in the society, we will never realize it.”
