Amid this, Aamir Khan recently broke his silence on the highly-anticipated Andaz Apna Apna 2, with Salman Khan.
Aamir Khan on Current Status of Andaz Apna Apna 2
The earlier revelations by Dhoom 3 star on Andaz Apna Apna 2 thrilled fans, as it would mark the much-awaited reunion of Aamir Khan and Salman Khan. While the PK actor has multiple times spoken about the sequel to the 1994 cult classic, during a recent interview, he shared the current status of the project. He also shared how far it is from being confirmed.
The Taare Zameen Par actor said that director Rajkumar Santoshi is working on the script. However, the project is still in its early stages. Further, Aamir also said that he and Salman would only move ahead with the film once they are absolutely convinced by the story.
Here's What Aamir Said
The Laal Singh Chaddha star said, "I really believe that scripts have to come out organically. So Raj Santoshi is working on a version of Andaz Apna Apna 2, but it’s too early for me to say that it’s being made, because until the script is ready and both Salman and I don’t love what he narrates and we say yes — until then, the film actually won’t be greenlit."
Further, he added, "So right now, it’s in very early stages. But let’s all hope that he comes up with a good script. We’re all hoping."
It is worth mentioning that after Aamir Khan's revelations on Andaz Apna Apna 2, the children of the late Vinay Sinha, who produced the original movie, clarified that the Sarfarosh actor was never a producer on the original. So, they would not be selling the rights to either Aamir Khan or Rajkumar Santoshi.
