Bollywood actress Ananya Panday made her debut with ‘Student of the Year 2’ co-starring Tiger Shroff and Tara Sutaria in 2019. The film instantly earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Soon after, she continued work on ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’ before building her career ahead with ‘Gehraiyaan’ and ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’.
Despite such success and acclaim, startling allegations surfaced around the start of her career. For starters, she was accused of reportedly cheating on her boyfriends during her school days.

Thereafter, the same reports alleged that the actress used her influential background to bully kids from regular households. Accusations also pointed out that Panday had lied about attending the University of Southern California (USC).
The truth is, however, far from such allegations. In an appearance on Barkha Dutt’s Mojo Story, the 26-year-old actress recalled how someone on social media had started a fake account pretending to be one of her schoolmates and spread these rumours about her.
At that time, Ananya Panday had just begun acting and was also new to the world of social media. The fake account made spurious allegations including the ones above. While the actress believed that people would not fall for this, she was upset when the rumours made their way into the mainstream.
“And at first, I was like, ‘No one is going to believe that’. But people did believe it. And then, when it spun out of control, that really upset me,” stated the Bollywood star.
Shockingly, not only were these rumours baseless, but the accusations that Panday was a bully were turned the other way around as she was often called names. “When I was in school, social media had just started. I was called all sorts of things, like hunchback, flat screen, chicken legs,” noted Panday.
Shutting down the rumours once and for all, Ananya Panday also offered a stern but positive message to people spreading misinformation about her.

“As for the people who have been trying to pull me down with these accusations, I would like to send you all lots of love, peace, and positivity,” said the actress.
