Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant's wedding extravaganza has grabbed the center stage as the pair gears up to get married on July 12. The wedding is scheduled to take place at the Jio Convention Centre in Bandra-Kurla Complex, Mumbai which also has offices of many big corporate companies.
BKC companies ask employees to WFH
Due to the traffic restrictions in the area around the complex, these companies have been forced to ask their employees to work from home from July 12 to July 15. The roads leading to the upmarket Jio World Convention Centre and in the proximity will be kept open only for event vehicles from 1 pm to midnight from July 12 to July 15. This special treatment is understandable because the billionaire Mukesh Ambani is the owner of Jio World Convention Centre.
Restrictions spark outrage among common people
Although it will mean that the celebrities trying to reach the venue will have no hindrance during the transition these extensive traffic restrictions have made the life of common people difficult. It has led to an outrage among the general public who are forced to take a longer route to reach their workplace or home.
According to the Hindustan Times, police are managing these celebrations under the ‘public event’ category as high-profile global and Indian celebrities are expected to attend the wedding ceremony in huge numbers.
The boom in hotel room prices
Amid the public outcry, the hotel industry around the BKC has been booming like never before as there is a huge demand for good hotel rooms and suites around the wedding venue.

The prices of hotel rooms in BKC have escalated with a normal room costing anywhere around 91,000 for just a day’s stay this weekend. There have been reports that the extravagant wedding including the two pre-wedding celebrations in Jamnagar and France and the actual wedding event has cost the Ambani a whopping 5,000 crores which is quite shocking.
