Millennium Star Amitabh Bachchan is officially coming back as the host of Season 17 of the iconic quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC). KBC will start airing from August 11, 2025. The show will air five days a week, i.e. Monday to Friday, at 9 pm on Sony TV and stream exclusively on SonyLIV. However, with his comeback, Big B has become the highest-paid TV host, beating Salman Khan.

Big B Beats Salman!
According to reports, Amitabh Bachchan's fee for each episode of KBC is Rs 5 crore, which adds up to Rs 25 crore.
Reportedly, Salman Khan was paid Rs 12 crore per Weekend Ka Vaar episode during Bigg Boss OTT 2, which roughly comes to Rs 24 crore a week.
If the latest reports are anything to go by, Amitabh Bachchan has become the highest-paid TV host, beating Salman Khan.
However, there's a twist. While Sallu earned Rs 24 crore by hosting just two episodes, Big B will earn Rs 25 crore per week by hosting for five days.
Further, a report by Siasat states that Salman reportedly charged Rs 60 crore per month for Bigg Boss 18, which is about Rs 14 crore per week, again less than Big B's current fee.

Notably, rumours were abuzz about Salman Khan taking over the hosting baton of KBC: Season 17 from Amitabh Bachchan. However, KBC's director Arun Sheshkumar dismissed the reports and further stated that, as it is the 25th anniversary of the quiz-based game show, the makers are putting in efforts to make it grander.
