Amitabh Bachchan's Failure Left Producer Heartbroken!
Filmmaker Karan Johar's father Yash Johar founded Dharma Productions in 1976 and produced Dostana as the first movie under the banner in 1980. Dostana, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Sinha in the lead became a super hit. However, after that, a series of movies produced by the production house bombed at the box office. Dharma Productions had to sell their lights and cameras. Even Yash Johar had to mortgage his house. Following that KJo's mother Hiroo Johar suffered a heart attack. When Big B heard about the tragic news, he immediately went to meet her and his school friend Yash. It was then Big B came on board for action-thriller Agneepath.

During a recent conversation with Komal Nahta, KJo recalled that his father also ran a handicraft export business which helped the family during Dharma Productions low phase.
The business wasn’t roaring; it was meowing at best. However, the losses from our films were offset because of it. There were times when we could have been homeless, as several of our movies failed one after another," said KJo.
The filmmaker also recalled that his father was left heartbroken when Amitabh Bachchan's Agneepath failed.
KJo said, "These were big films with major directors and actors. But when Agneepath flopped, my father was truly heartbroken. He believed it would be the film that elevated him to the level he aspired to."
Jumma Chumma in Agneepath!
'Jumma Chumma' song from Hum remains one of the most iconic numbers. The song featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Kimi Katkar was a chartbuster at the time. However, did you know that the song was meant for Agneepath? During an interview with Doordarshan, actress Archana Puran Singh revealed that Amitabh Bachchan felt that since he is playing the role of a don in Agneepath, the song wouldn't suit this character. Thus, it was removed from the film and the makers used another song. Further, Archana made another interesting revelation that before Kimi Katkar, she was the original choice for the song in Hum.

Well, the iconic character was inspired by a roommate of Mithun Chakraborty. According to IMDb, his roommate Devio was a struggling actor. While Devio paid Rs 150 for the bed, Mithun paid Rs 75 as rent and had to sleep on the floor. Once Mithun lay down on the bed while Devio was at work. When Devio returned and found Mithun lying on his bed, he scolded him for the act. This incident served as an inspiration for Krishnan Iyer in the movie.
