A night before Pushpa 2: The Rule commenced its box office dominance and record-breaking spree, Tollywood Icon Star Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13, 2024, in connection with a tragic stampede that occurred during the premiere of his highly anticipated movie at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. 39-year-old Revathi's tragic death and her 8-year-old son Sri Tej getting critically injured in the stampede led to Allu Arjun's arrest from his home. After spending a night in custody despite bail, the Telugu superstar returned home to his wife Sneha Reddy and children Allu Arha and Allu Ayaan. However, his grand homecoming was criticised by a section of netizens. Many went on to troll the Pushpa actor for his 'grand' display of homecoming. After getting trolled, on Sunday, Allu Arjun expressed his concerns for the injured child through his social media post.
Taking to social media, Allu Arjun wrote, "I remain deeply concerned about young Sri Tej, who is under constant medical care after the unfortunate incident." (sic)
Further, he wrote, "Due to the ongoing legal proceedings, I have been advised not to visit him and his family at this time. My prayers remain with them and I remain committed to taking responsibility for addressing the medical and family needs. I wish him speedy recovery, and I look forward to meeting him and his family at the earliest." (sic)
While the post has garnered massive likes, many have flooded the comments section with praises for Bunny. While some said that respect for the actor has increased after he expressed his concerns for the injured kid, several others called him a 'Real Hero'.
Pushpa 2's Global Collection
After becoming the fastest Indian film to join the Rs 1000 crore elite club, Pushpa 2 has earned a staggering Rs 1,292 crore.
Notably, after Allu Arjun's arrest, Pushpa 2, reportedly, experienced a dramatic 74% surge in collections on its second Saturday in India, adding Rs 86 crore to its earnings after a Rs 51 crore Friday. A report by Business Today suggests that the overseas market has contributed Rs 210 crore.
However, haters alleged that Bunny's arrest in the tragic stampede incident was a "PR strategy".
