Alia Bhatt must be on cloud nine after winning the ‘Best Actress’ award at the 69th Filmfare Awards for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani. Alia won her first Filmfare award in 2017 for her stellar performance in Udta Punjab. For the second time, it was for Raazi in 2019. The actress again clinched the award in 2020 for Gully Boy and in 2023 for Gangubai Kathiawadi. Now, with this achievement, Alia enrolled her name in the list of actresses with maximum awards.
Alia made her debut with Students of The Year in 2012. It was ace Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar who introduced her. Undeniably, for Alia, it was quite easier to get a platform as she belongs to a family that has been closely related to cinema for many years. However, earlier Bollywood diva Aishwarya Rai (Bachchan) said that Alia Bhatt got established in a short duration due to the support of a renowned filmmaker.
An old video of the diva surfaced on social media soon after Alia won the Filmfare Award.
In the video, Aish said, “I have said this to Alia also, ‘It’s fantastic for you.’ The kind of support Karan has given to her from the beginning, and to have that kind of an establishment with you is very comforting because you know it is not tough. You can have it all laid out for the longest time. And she smiled.”
Further, the Ae Dil Hai Muskil actress said, “It’s great where you as an actor know there are only good opportunities ahead. But, what’s nice is Alia is also doing good work, along with great opportunities which are virtually there literally on her lap, regularly.”
In her illustrative career of around 12 years, Alia has worked in over 20 movies, and winning five Filmfare Awards is certainly a big achievement. Moreover, she also won a National Award in the category for her stupendous performance in Gangubai Kathiawadi. Alia has achieved greater heights which is uncommon for a young actress like her. Even, she has several blockbusters in her name. Her sheer dedication and amazing performance onscreen, while nailing her character, paved the way for her to achieve such a great height at such a young age.
On the work front, Alia is busy shooting for her upcoming Jigra. Furthermore, it was recently announced that the actress will be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next ‘Love & War,’ which also features Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal. She also has Brahmastra: Part 2- Dev in her kitty.
