KGF 2 seems to have emerged as a bigger blockbuster than SS Rajamouli’s RRR in India, especially in the Northern belt which has given more response to Yash’s Rocky bhai and Sanjay Dutt’s Adheera. And that is the reason, KGF 2 has now become the second biggest Hindi hit of all time, next to Baahubali 2 which is the biggest ever Indian hit.
Prashanth Neel-helmed sequel has overtaken Aamir Khan’s biggest ever blockbuster Dangal. According to leading trade analyst Taran Adarsh, KGF 2 has surpassed the lifetime collection of Rs 357.38 crore achieved by Dangal.
Prabhas and Rana Daggubati-led Baahubali 2 continue to reign at the number one position with a lifetime collection of Rs 510.99 crore for its Hindi version. But if the sequel of Yash continues to enjoy this dreamy run it can certainly inch closer to Baahubali 2 and who knows can end up being the number one Hindi hit of all times.
Interestingly, despite big Bollywood releases like Akshay Kumar’s Sooryavanshi and Bachchan Pandey, Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey, Tiger Shroff’s Heropanti, and Ajay Devgn and Amitabh Bachchan’s Runaway 34 in the last few months post the pandemic era, none of the movie has been able to create a sensation the way the Southern movies like Allu Arjun’s Pushpa: The Rise, KGF 2, and RRR have created.
Rather such has been the massive response to RRR and KGF 2 that all the other latest releases have fallen flat on their face which is a big cause of worry for the Bollywood filmmakers.
Apart from the South Indian audience, now even the pan India movie fans are finding the Southern movies more entertaining and it can be attributed to the fact that these movies depict the topics that are dearer to the hearts of the Indian audience.
