Rebel star Prabhas-starrer Adipurush has been receiving a lot of hate for its ‘tapori’ dialogues and bizarre VFX. Moviegoers have slammed the makers for ruining the originality of the ‘Ramayana’.
A scene from the movie showing Hanuman uttering cringe dialogues like ‘Kapda tere baap ka, tel tere baap ka, aag bhi tere baap ki, aur jalegi bhi tere baap ki’ received severe backlash from the audience. After backlash from all quarters, the dialogue writer Manoj Muntashir had promised that they would change the language to respect the public sentiment.
As promised, the makers have changed certain dialogues in the film. The makers have just changed ‘baap’ to ‘lanka’. So, the dialogue now sounds like, ‘Kapda teri Lanka ka, tel teri Lanka ka, aag bhi teri Lanka ki, aur jalegi bhi teri Lanka hi.”
Meanwhile, the bad word of mouth has impacted the movie's box office collections which registered a fall of 78% from the weekend’s earnings. The movie's collection on Tuesday was in single digits of just Rs 4.75-5crore net, Box Office India reported.
Till now in the Hindi belt, the movie has collected Rs 117 crore by the end of Day 5 and is witnessing a ‘huge downward spiral’ as it has hurt the sentiments of a large chunk of the audience.
The Om Raut-directorial, which stars Prabhas as Raghav (Lord Ram), Kriti Sanon as Janaki (Sita), and Saif Ali Khan as Lankesh (Ravan), has been mired in controversy ever since its release.
