Sushmita Sen received lots of accolades and awards for her performance in Aarya that released last year on Disney + Hotstar. The show has been nominated for International Emmy Awards in the Best Drama category. Now, the team of Ram Madhvani and Sush is back with another season of Aarya. Announcing the arrival of Aarya 2 on Instagram Sushmita penned that the Sherni is back and is deadlier than before.

The teaser unveils an intense and strong Sushmita Sen with the entire screen filled with color. It seems that the backdrop is that of Holi with colours smeared everywhere around Sush and flying in the air and also on the white and red dress of the actress as she makes an entry. The series is a remake of Penoza, a Dutch series with Sushmita reprising the titular role of Aarya in both seasons of the franchise. In the first season, Sushmita played the role of a married woman whose husband Pharma Baron Tej Sareen played by Chandrachur Singh is killed. It creates a lot of upheavals in the life of Aarya. The story is all about Aarya’s fight.

According to Ram Madhvani, the director of this franchise, they had not planned for the second season, but the love and appreciation they received for the first season encouraged them to come up with Aarya 2. He further added that the nomination for the series at the International Emmy Awards confirmed that the story they wanted to tell has thrilled the audience.

In Aarya 2, Sushmita Sen will have to fight a lot of odds and challenges and will have to walk a thin line between seeking revenge and simultaneously ensuring that her family survives.
