Aanand L Rai confirms Tanu Weds Manu 3
‘Tanu Weds Manu’ and its sequel ‘Tanu Weds Manu Returns’ are two of the most loved films in Bollywood, earning classic status in Indian cinema. Following the success of the first two films, director Aanand L Rai has confirmed that ‘Tanu Weds Manu 3’ is on the cards.
The director, currently enjoying the success of his latest release ‘Phir Aayi Haseen Dilruba’, recently shared details about the highly anticipated third instalment.
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Rai addressed the growing speculations surrounding ‘Tanu Weds Manu 3’, starring Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan. He revealed that the film's production is expected to begin by mid-2025.
He emphasized that the story is the key element driving the project forward. "It only depends on the story, nothing else. We are working on the story. It’s a big responsibility to get the characters back with a bigger story. I am on it, and I will be on floors the day it’s cracked," Rai shared.
He added that while he could begin shooting within three months if profit was the sole motive, he is more focused on delivering a story that satisfies the audience. "Work is on in full swing. The pressure to live up to the benchmark set by the second part is real," he said.
Meanwhile, Rai is also gearing up for his next project ‘Tere Ishk Mein’, starring Dhanush, with whom he had previous collaborated for Raanjhanaa and Atrangi Re.
