The anticipation among fans of Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan for his upcoming 'Sitaare Zameen Par' is escalating with each passing day. After the debacle of 'Laal Singh Chaddha' (the Indian adaptation of the Hollywood flick Forrest Gump), Sitaare Zameen Par will be Aamir's first on-screen project.
Recently, Aamir dropped an exciting update about his upcoming. The Dhoom 3 actor revealed his plans for the movie's release to TV9.
Reportedly, the actor has been filming the project for the past few weeks and the movie is intended to release in Christmas 2024.
Aamir was quoted as saying, "My next film as a lead actor is Sitaare Zameen Par. We are trying to release it by the end of this year, on the occasion of Christmas. It is an entertaining film, I like the story. The shooting of the film has begun."
Sitaare Zameen Par marks the first-time on-screen collaboration of Aamir with Genelia D'Souza Deshmukh. The film is touted to explore themes of his acclaimed movie Taare Zameen Par.
If everything falls in place as per plans, the movie will be released in Christmas 2024 and will likely clash with 'Welcome To The Jungle' which features an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Raveena Tandon, among others.
Notably, Aamir was emotionally hurt after the failure of Laal Singh Chaddha. Recently, he admitted to making 'so many mistakes' in the movie and he took time to absorb the grief.
Recently, during a chat with ABP News, Aamir opened up that the movie remains close to his heart. He was quoted as saying, "Advait, Kareena, and the whole cast and crew worked hard and it didn’t do well. Two things happened, after a long time my film didn’t work, so family and friends would come home to ask me if I’m doing okay. I realised that I’m getting a lot of love after a flop. That was the funny side of it. The serious side is, failure teaches you where you’ve made mistakes. It gives you an opportunity to understand what those mistakes were.”
Further, he added, “I gave it a lot of thought, it was a big learning for me. I remember telling Kiran once, ‘I made so many mistakes in this film on so many levels. Thank God I made these mistakes in just one film.’ Emotionally, I’m hurt that the film has not worked, I’ve taken time to absorb the grief."
