Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone’s Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani complete 10 years of its release today. Directed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Dharma Productions the movie was a milestone in the career of all those who were involved in it including Ranbir, Deepika, Ayan, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Kalki Koechlin.

Deeps and Ranbir nailed the characters of Naina and Bunny and almost all their scenes including intense, passionate and even a few hilarious ones from the movie are unforgettable.

A deleted scene shared by a Twitter user from YJHD has Bunny and Naina having their usual banter and could have been a good addition to the film.

Lesser known facts about YJHD

Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma were considered for the role of Naina but eventually, the role went to Deepika Padukone.

Interestingly, Deeps had so much faith in both Ranbir and Ayan Mukerji that she signed on the dotted line without even reading the script. But as expected Ranbir was the first choice for this movie and Ayan had written the character of Bunny keeping the scion of the Kapoor family in mind.

Ranbir is a die-hard fan of Madhuri Dixit and when young his heart broke when Maddy married Dr. Sriram Nene. So when he came to know that the Bollywood superstar was doing a dance number in the film, he convinced Ayan to have a shot where he can kiss Madhuri on the cheek.

Incidentally, Madhuri was named Mohini in Yeh Jawaan Hai Deewani as a tribute to her unforgettable role in Tezaab.

Ayan also did a cameo in the film which can be spotted only by those who have a hawk’s vigil. He can be seen sitting down when Bunny sings "Kabhie Kabhie mere dil mein" during the wedding of Aditi played by Kalki Koechlin.

Yeh Jawaani Hai Dewaani was released in Israel and translated into Hebrew. It was the first Bollywood release in Israel after 10 years since the release of Devdas.
