Bollywood’s Mr Perfectionist aka Aamir Khan’s magic failed at the box office with his last release Laal Singh Chaddha. Helmed by Advait Chandan, the movie also starred Kareena Kapoor Khan, Naga Chaitanya and Mona Singh with Shah Rukh Khan’s cameo. However, the movie turned out to be a box office disaster as it failed to impress the audience.
In a recent interview, Aamir’s cousin and director Mansoor Khan shared that Baahubali helmer SS Rajamouli stated that Aamir was ‘overacting’ in the film.
During an interview with PTI, Mansoor revealed, he had said to Aamir that his acting in Laal Singh Chaddha was ‘over-the-top.’ However, the Dhoom 3 actor felt that Mansoor was a subtle guy for which he might have felt that way. But, when SS Rajamouli informed Aamir that he was overacting in Laal Singh Chaddha, it is then that he felt that it must be true.
Recalling the conversation with Aamir, Mansoor said to PTI, “Aamir has a great sense of humour. So one day he laughingly tells me, ‘When you told me it was over the top, I said, ok, you are a subtle guy which is why you might have felt that way. But when someone like Rajamouli tells me overacting lag raha hai, I said to myself, Isko bhi lag raha hai toh kiya hi hoga (If he also feels so then it must be)’.”
Currently, Aamir is on a break from his career and he himself made the announcement in November 2022. As per his announcement, he will be on a break for a year and a half to focus on his family. Post the release of Laal Singh Chaddha, at an event in Delhi, Aamir said that he has been working for 35 years and he has solely focused on his work which is why he wanted to take some time off and spend it with his loved ones.
