UPSC Mains 2023 begins today: Check exam guidelines, other details

The candidates who have cleared the preliminary examination are eligible to appear for the Mains.

The Union Public Service Commission Civil Services Main 2023 examination is all set to commence today i.e. September 15. The examination is scheduled to be conducted in two shifts.

The first shift will begin at 9 am and continue till 12 noon and the second shift will begin at 2 pm and end at 5 pm. The examination will continue till September 24, 2023. The coveted exam is scheduled to be conducted on September 15, 16, 17, 23 and 24.

The examination will be conducted for 5 days with gaps on Sept 18, 19, 20, 21 and 22. The admit card for the same has been released and candidates who have cleared their preliminary examination can download it.

The candidates who have cleared the preliminary examination are eligible to appear for the Mains.

Below is a list of the exam day guidelines to be followed by the aspirants:
1.    Every candidate should have their e-admit card with them. No applicant will be permitted to show up for the test without the admit card.
2.    Candidates must arrive at the exam centre on time. Ten minutes before the examination's scheduled start time, the examination site must be closed. No applicant will be permitted admission into the exam centre after the entry has closed.
3.    Examinees should bring a black ballpoint pen because they will be required for rough work. Additionally, only black ballpoint pens must be used to fill out the attendance list.
4.    Candidates can only wear simple wristwatches in the examination rooms or halls. However, it is strictly forbidden for applicants to wear watches that have any kind of special attachment that could be used as a communication device or smart watches within the examination rooms or halls.
5.    The exam room does not permit the use of a mobile phone (even one that is turned off), a pager, any type of electronic device, a programmable device, a storage medium (such as a pen drive, smartwatch, etc.), camera, Bluetooth devices, or any other device or accessory linked to the exam.
