The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued a notice regarding recruitment of faculty in universities, institutions deemed to be universities and colleges.
In a latest letter, the UGC has clearly asked all the universities, institutions deemed to be universities and colleges to take serious steps to ensure that the vacant positions are filled at the earliest.
The UGC has also asked the higher educational institutions to upload the status of the recruitment process on the University Activity Monitoring Portal of UGC on or before July 31, 2024.
Earlier, the UGC had sent several letters regarding the recruitment of faculty in universities, institutions deemed to be universities and colleges.
All the universities, institutions were requested to ensure the implementation of UGC guidelines for recruitment of faculty in letter and spirit.
As per UGC, the shortage of faculty in Higher Education Institutions is a major concern and requires to be addressed on priority for improving the quality of Higher Education.
