Today, we will talk about IPS Umesh Ganpat Khandbahale, who showed the same spirit as IPS Manoj Sharma (played by Vikrant Massey in 12th Fail).
Hailing from a humble background, Umesh’s father sold milk to earn a living. With no income source to fund his English medium education, Umesh had to attend a Hindi medium school in his village in Maharashtra.
Unlike other aspirants, he wasn’t a bright mind and failed Class 12 like IPS Manoj Sharma. Being a Hindi medium student, he was very poor in English and had secured just 21 marks in his Class XII. After his academic setback, he helped his father in selling milk and did other odd jobs to earn a living for the family.
However, he joined an open school education and cleared his intermediate before pursuing science for graduation. He later traveled to Nashik where he took up several jobs as he enrolled for his UPSC preparation.
His hard work eventually paid off and he secured an impressive AIR-704 to become an IPS officer. Umesh’s journey proves that one can overcome any obstacle and achieve success if done with sheer determination and positive thoughts.
