Clearing UPSC, India’s toughest exam isn’t everyone’s cup of tea. The Civil Services Exam takes a lot of dedication, sacrifice, hard work, and consistency. It is even more difficult for those who cannot afford study materials and resources.
However, there are many who have cracked the IAS exam despite limited resources. The glaring example is IAS Ansar Shaikh, the son of an autorickshaw driver, who had to face multiple obstacles and difficulties during his initial preparation days.
Hailing from the Marathwada district of Maharashtra, Shaikh’s father worked as an auto driver while his mother worked in the fields. His brother had to drop out of school to extend a helping hand to the family, a report in DNA India stated.
Financially weak, Shaikh’s family pushed them to take up any job and add to the family’s income and never prioritized education. Despite all the financial constraints, Shaikh was a brilliant student from his school days and did well academically.
He was adamant about becoming an IAS officer to change the fate of his family and started his UPSC journey after completing his graduation. He would dedicate 12 hours a day to his preparations.
Despite several obstacles, he worked hard, and finally, his hard work paid off. Shaikh cracked the UPSC exam with All India Rank (AIR)-361 and became the youngest IAS officer at the age of 21 in 2016.
His life journey is a perfect example of how hard work finally pays off and we should never fear away from working hard. His life journey is a source of hope and inspiration for thousands of UPSC aspirants who feel like giving up and are in a low phase.
