Odisha School and Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash on Sunday hinted that the schools for Class 1 to 7 students will be reopened shortly in the State.
While talking to newsmen, the Minister said that though no decision has been taken so far, it is likely that the physical mode of teaching would resume for class 1 to 7 students after Diwali.
According to the Minister, the possibility of Covid-19 third wave is almost negligible. Hence, all possibilities are being explored for the reopening of schools for Standard 1 to 7 students in the State, he said.

“Till now no decision has been taken but we are taking all possible measures to ensure that classes are reopened in a graded manner. Already physical mode of teaching for Standard 8 to 12 students are continuing in the State,” said Dash.
Dash further said the State government will take an appropriate call on reopening of schools for Standard 1 to 7 students.
“We are hopeful that a decision will be taken by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on the reopening of schools after Diwali at any moment,” said Dash.
The School and Mass Education Minister categorically stated that the classes for Standard 1 to 7 will resume in a phased manner across the State.
It is pertinent to mention here that the Odisha government has allowed the resumption of classes in physical mode for Standard 11 and 8 from October 21 and October 25, 2021, respectively. The schools for class 10 and 12 students had reopened in Odisha from July 26, 2021.
