A day after the Directorate of Higher Secondary Education (DHSE) announced the first cut-off list for students seeking admission into various streams of Plus II courses, Higher Secondary Schools and institutions across Odisha have started Plus II admissions for the 2021-22 academic session, on Tuesday
The admission process is underway with all Covid-19 norms in place. Moreover, the institutions are also conducting online admissions along with offline sessions. The first phase of admissions will continue till September 21.
Around 3, 86, 464 candidates were shortlisted in the first cut-off list which was announced on Monday.

As per the latest notification released by DHSE, guardians/parents of shortlisted candidates can also be present for admittance at the institutions in cases where the candidates failed to arrive at the spot.
Ravenshaw Higher Secondary School in Cuttack remained the most sought-after institution by the candidates for the current academic year (2021-22) in all three streams, i.e. Science, Commerce and Arts. As per the cut off marks uploaded on the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) portal, Ravenshaw topped the list of science stream with 91.33 per cent for the general category followed by BJB Higher Secondary School (90.67 per cent) and Saraswati Vidya Mandir Higher Secondary School in Berhampur (86.67 per cent).
Meanwhile, the second phase of the merit list will be announced on September 27 while the shortlisted students will get admission between September 29 and October 1. The spot-selection list will be out on October 4. Selected candidates can register themselves for admission by October 5. The spot admission will be conducted on October 7.
