Amid the intensifying demand by the medical aspirants for the postponement of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) or (NEET-UG) 2021 conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA) every year, the Director General of NTA Vineet Joshi denied any such move to postpone the exam and said that it will be held on the scheduled date, i.e. September 12.
As per a report published by the India Today, Joshi said that no such discussion was held by the agency to postpone the medical entrance exam.
It may be worth mentioning that majority of the students, who were preparing for the NEET 2021, are disappointed with the new schedule of the exam and have been demanding further deferment till October.

Reason, the exam dates are clashing with several other major exams including Class 12 improvement and compartment examinations, ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research), MHT CET 2021, and Karnataka’s COMEDK exam, Odisha JEE, and MP Class 12 improvement exams.
Meanwhile, the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI) president Neeraj Kundan has written to the Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan requesting him to reschedule the dates of NEET UG 2021 as the medical entrance exam is clashing with several other the entrance exams.
“The current examination date of NEET UG is September 12. The exam requires rigorous preparation and objective examination tests many aspects of learning. Hence, a student needs to be in top form to perform well in such kind of examination,” Kunda asserted in the letter.
“The problem here is that there are many other exams schedule around September 12, which are subjective in nature, which may break the concentration of a student," he added in the letter.
While ICAR will be held from September 7 to 9, CBSE Physics will be on September 9, and Math on September 13. COMEDK will be on September 14, OJEE will begin from September 6, Maharashtra CET from September 4, Kundan mentioned in the letter to Pradhan.
Keeping in mind the mentioned exams and keep a window of 7-14 days so that students can focus well on the examination, Kundan requested the Education Minister to reschedule the dates medical examination date.
On the other hand, the medical aspirants who were demanding postponement of NEET UG 2021 have started a new trend on Twitter-- #JusticeforNEETUGAspirants after the official agency confirmed that the date of the exam will not be changed.
Taking to the micro-blogging site, students started several campaigns using hashtags-- #ShiftNEETUG, #NEETPostpone, #PostponeNEETUGTillOctober #DelayNEET, #RescheduleNEET in order to mark their protest.
NEET was earlier scheduled to be held on August 1. However, following the rise in the Coronavirus cases in the country, the exam was cancelled. Around 16 lakh students have registered for the exam this year.
