Several students of Madhusudan Law University, Cuttack on Thursday staged protests and boycotted examination after more than three staff tested COVID positive.
The students demanded college authorities change the examination centre or conduct examinations in online mode.
As per reports, the fifth-year students had labour law paper today and the examination was scheduled to commence at 10.30 am.
According to students, earlier some of the invigilators tested positive and on Wednesday three staff tested positive.
“They are creating such circumstances so that we will be forced to write examination at this Covid exposed zone. We are ready to write the exam but they should at least change the examination centre or allow us to write it online,” Amrita Mishra, student.
“College authorities are hiding the Covid reports, how can we write the exam sitting together at this centre,” Subham Sathpathy, student.
He added, “Minimum 40 students may be having minor cold and fever.”
The Covid-19 infection in Odisha continues to soar with the State reporting over 400 cases for the second consecutive day.
As per reports, the State reported 428 new Covid-19 cases including 56 infections in the 0-18 age group. While 251 cases were reported from quarantine, 177 are local contact cases.
Khurda reported the highest 183 new cases followed by Cuttack (88), Balasore (22), Sundargarh (20), and Puri (11).
Since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, the State has recorded 12,91,946 confirmed cases.
