Meet Robin Bansal, IIT-Delhi graduate who quits Rs 36L job to crack UPSC

This IIT graduate who used to earn a whopping Rs 36 lakh quit his high-paying job to crack UPSC and his hard work has finally paid off. However, it wasn’t a journey of roses for him.

He had to fail three times to finally crack India’s toughest exam on his fourth attempt. Despite failing to crack the exam three times, he did not give up. His hard work and determination have finally secured him all-India rank (AIR) 135 in the UPSC civil services exam.

Yes, we are talking about none other than Robin Bansal. Robin has finally managed to turn luck in his fourth attempt with AIR-135 in the recently declared UPSC result.

As per a report in India Today, Bansal was offered a high-paying job after passing out from IIT-Delhi. However, the 25-year-old was determined to become an IPS officer. So, after working for one-year, he quit his high-paying job and started to prepare for the UPSC exam.

“I joined a private company with an annual package of Rs 36 lakh. However, after one year, I resigned and started focusing on my preparations for the UPSC. I was preparing for UPSC ever since I joined IIT-Delhi,” Bansal was quoted as saying by Hindustan Times.

However, he failed to make it in his first attempt in 2019. Subsequently, he had to face disappointment in 2020 and 2021. However, his hard work has finally paid off and he managed to rank 135th in 2022 exam.

Bansal credited his parents for his success and said, “All this happened because of my parents, teachers and well-wishers. I attended a few coaching centres. But, self-study played a key role in clearing the exam.”

Now, the 25-year-old aims to transform the image of the police force into a compassion rather than brute strength.
