It is rightly said, that ‘success kisses the feet of people who work hard and never give up.’ IAS Radha Awasthi, a daughter of farmer has proved that there is no alternative to hard work. The brilliant mind cracked UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist Examination 2023, in her first attempt and secured an impressive AIR-7.

Hailing from Pachanehi village in Uttar Pradesh, Radha was born to a farming family. She lives with her parents, three sisters and a brother. Her father Anil Awasthi worked in his farm to earn a living for the family. He spent most of his meagre income from farming for the studies of his children.

However, as the children grew up, the expenses of the family increased, forcing him to move to Lucknow for a job. He lived in a rented house and continued to support his children’s studies. All his hard work paid off after all his children studied well and carved a niche for themselves in the society.

While Radha became an IAS officer, her second sister is a bank manager, brother is a Class 1 Engineer in Gujarat and the third daughter is a lecturer at a college. As per AajTak, Radha went to a local school and then graduated with B.Sc.

Subsequently, she pursued M.Tech and also prepared for UPSC exam simultaneously. Her hard work paid off and she secured AIR- 7. Radha attributes her success to her father and mother.

“I worked very hard day and night. I completely dedicated myself to the preparation. There is no work that daughters cannot do. If we work hard, we can achieve anything,” said an elated Radha.
