The UPSC civil services exam is a tough nut to crack and it requires many hours of preparation on a daily basis. However, Devyani Singh, who serves as Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax, reportedly cracked the exam and secured 11 rank by studying only on weekends. 

The beautiful bureaucrat is a dancer and an ex-IBPS PO.  With over 112K followers, she is very popular on Instagram and is one of the most inspirational bureaucrats India has ever had. 

UPSC is one of the toughest exams in India, but Devyani made it seem easy with her smart strategies. Her journey of hard work and consistency is nothing but a source of inspiration for those who are preparing for years but are yet to crack the Civil Services Exam, according to a report in DNA India.

Devyani Singh did her schooling in Chandigarh and later went on to do her engineering at BITS Pilani’s Goa campus. After completing her graduation, Devyani decided to pursue her dream of becoming a Civil Servant.

In her first two attempts, she was not even able to clear the preliminary examination. However, she did not give up. She managed to clear both the Prelims and Mains in 2017 and was selected for the interview round, the DNA India report said. 

Unfortunately, she couldn’t clear the interview round. However, she wasn’t dejected and decided to give it another try. She gave her fourth attempt and cracked the exam with 222 rank. She was then appointed to the Central Audit Department.

However, she decided to give it another try and began preparation for the exam once again in 2018. However, due to her appointment in the Central Audit Department, she could only study during the weekends.

Her hard work finally paid off and she finally cracked the exam in 2019 and went on to secure Rank 11. She is now an IRS officer and is serving as the Assistant Commissioner of Income Tax.

Devyani hails from Mahendergarh, Haryana. She says her father, who is also an IAS officer, is her inspiration.
