With no second option, Siddharth's father turned to journalism and relocated with his family to Delhi.
Today, we will talk about the inspiring journey of IAS Siddharth Shukla who battled all odds to fulfill his father’s dream of becoming an IAS officer. However, it took four attempts and wasn’t a cakewalk for Siddharth to crack the UPSC.
Hailing from Azamgarh in UP, Siddharth attended his schooling in Delhi after his father’s relocation. A bright student from his school days, Siddharth then went on to complete his degree in History. Well aware of his father’s unfulfilled UPSC dream, Siddharth did not have any dream for himself, but always wanted to do it for his father. Soon, after his graduation, he began his UPSC preparation.
As part of his preparation strategy, he refrained from using any social media. He used his mother’s phone to talk to his friends. He believes that social media is a distraction.
Despite every effort, he miserably failed in the Mains on his first attempt. In his second attempt, he was able to crack both the Prelims and Mains but failed to make it to the Interview round. He faced a similar fate in his third attempt.
However, he did not give up and was confident that he would make it. His consistency, perseverance, and determination paid off and he secured an impressive All India Rank (AIR)-27 in his fourth attempt.
