A day after the uproar over the directive to restrict the 'unauthorised' entry of mediapersons inside the school campus, Dhenkanal Collector on Monday announced a few relaxations in the directives.

As reported earlier, the order of the School and Mass Education Department restricted the entry of the journalists into school premises which was condemned by scribes as well as political parties.

Following the upheaval, Dhenkanal Collector Saroj Kumar Sethi has clarified that journalists are not completely barred from entering the school premises. However, he has laid some conditions for mediapersons.

As per the new conditions, media persons can enter the premises after school hours to collect information about the issues.

"Mediapersons are not barred from entering the school premises but they can enter only after the school hours as the students will get disturbed while classes are ongoing. They can discuss with the managing committee only after school hours. Disturbance during class hours will psychologically impact the minds of the students," said Sethi.

Further, Sethi added, "The mediapersons can talk about any issue with the managing committee, the guardians as well as the alumni. The honourable minister has already clarified that there are no restrictions for mediapersons , however, they must respect the regulations and not create any disturbance during the classes."
