In a major administrative reshuffle, IAS officer Athar Aamir Khan has been posted as the Deputy Commissioner of Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir. Athar who was serving as the CEO of Municipal Commissioner, Srinagar and Srinagar Smart City Limited for almost 3 years was transferred to Kulgam after the reshuffle.
Sharing the good news with his followers, Athar wrote, “Assumed the charge of District Magistrate & District Development Commissioner Kulgam today! Looking forward to this assignment.”
Meanwhile, Athar’s wife Mehreen Qazi penned a heartfelt note for him and wrote, “Masha Allah, your dedication and leadership inspire us all. Here's to the exciting journey ahead!”
Congratulatory messages have been pouring in for Athar Aamir from all quarters including his fans and followers on Instagram.
A follower wrote, “The one and only IAS Officer in recent times who came up due to sheer merit!!”
“I think govt shud have been transferred @atharaamirkhan after completion of smart city project,i don’t think new smc commissioner work wd that of passion the way @atharaamirkhan does. Not a good move by J&K govt,” another user wrote.

For the unversed, IAS Athar Aamir rose to fame after he cleared the UPSC Civil Services Exam in 2015 with an impressive All India Rank (AIR)-2, just behind topper Tina Dabi. The two toppers even had a much-famed marriage only to end up in divorce.
Currently, Aamir is happily married to doctor Mehreen Qazi while Tina Dabi found love in another IAS officer Pradeep.
