Considering the growing benefits of studying Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Education Ministry's SWAYAM portal has introduced five free AI courses to help students from diverse academic backgrounds. These courses are accessible online without any fee, giving learners an opportunity to explore AI’s applications across fields.

AI/ML Using Python

This course offers an introduction to Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, beginning with essential concepts and background knowledge. Participants will also be introduced to Python, widely used in data science, and learn how it supports AI/ML applications. The programme further covers data visualisation methods and provides a broad understanding of linear algebra, statistics, and optimisation—key foundations for AI/ML work.

Cricket Analytics with AI

Designed around sports data, this course covers the basics of analytics in cricket using AI. It starts with introductory Python programming and moves into core principles of data science. Students will gain experience with data visualisation and examine real-life case studies that demonstrate how analytics can be applied to cricket, offering practical exposure to the role of AI in sports.

AI in Physics

This beginner-level course focuses on applying AI to solve challenges in physics. It connects experimental physics with advanced tools such as machine learning and neural networks. Through interactive lectures, practical examples, and lab-based exercises, students will see how AI techniques can be applied to major areas of physics, building both theoretical understanding and hands-on skills.

AI in Chemistry

Targeted at undergraduate science students, this course introduces the applications of AI in chemistry. Participants will learn to use Python for tasks such as predicting molecular behaviour, designing drugs, and modelling chemical reactions. The sessions combine classroom teaching with real datasets and lab-based activities, providing a mix of theory and practice to explore the intersection of AI and chemistry.

AI in Accounting

This course is designed for commerce and management students to understand how AI can reshape accounting practices. It explains the fundamental ideas of AI and its integration into accounting principles. Using Python, participants will explore automated accounting techniques and gain experience working with real datasets. The curriculum balances theoretical learning with interactive labs, ensuring practical skill development in AI-driven accounting.

Empowering Students Through Free AI Learning

With these offerings, SWAYAM aims to ensure that students across science, commerce, and management streams can strengthen their knowledge of AI. By making such courses freely available, the platform is helping learners prepare for future careers where AI is expected to play a vital role.
