Passing the Civil Services Exam (CSE) conducted by the UPSC is the dream of millions of youths in India. While it takes several attempts to pass the exam, there are a few who make it on their very first attempt.
No matter what, passing this exam in itself is an achievement. A shining example is IAS Divya Tanwar, who not only once, but cracked the toughest examination twice. She was only 21 years old when she cracked the UPSC exam and was selected for the Indian Police Service (IPS).
However, it was her dream to become an IAS officer. So, she re-appeared the exam once again and was finally successful in fulfilling her IAS dream.
This is the inspiring story of IPS-turned-IAS officer Divya Tanwar. A resident of Mahendragarh, in Haryana, Divya’s father passed away when she was only 12 years old. With no breadwinner for the family, Divya attended a government school for her primary education, Amarujala reported.
However, with her intelligence and hard work, she managed to get an admission to Navodaya Vidyalaya. Later, she went on to pursue her degree in Science. Soon after her graduation, Divya made up her mind to start her UPSC journey.
However, the financial condition of her house was not good. Despite this, her mother supported Divya in this journey. Divya focused on her studies while her mother took care of her three children.
In the initial days of her preparation, Divya studied for 5 to 6 hours daily. With consistency and hard work in her studies, Divya cracked the UPSC 2021 exam on her first attempt itself with an All India Rank (AIR-438) and got selected for the post of Indian Police Service (IPS).
As it was her dream to become an IAS officer, she continued her preparation for the second attempt, and her hard work paid off again in the UPSC CSE 2022 exam. She finally fulfilled her dream of becoming an IAS officer with AIR-105.
IAS Divya Tanwar is very active on social media and keeps sharing inspirational posts with her followers. Currently, at around 97K followers, she is one of the few civil servants with so many followers.
