Odisha government on Monday announced to take stringent action against persons employed as teachers at different schools in the State by submitting fake/forged documents.
The big decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena.
During the meeting, it was decided that the certificates and other documents of teachers employed within the last three years will be verified. Individuals who have submitted certificates issued by Universities in other states will also be included in the verification process. The state government will write letters to the education departments of other concerned states for certificate verification. If required, special officials will be appointed to physically verify the certificates in other states.
The Board of Secondary Education and Higher Secondary Education will commence Digi Locker facility. The certificates issued by the Board of Secondary Education and Higher Secondary Education will be digitised for which a letter will be issued to the IT department's Secretary. Further, OSEPA's State Project Director will prepare the database of all teachers employed.
After identifying the fake teachers, FIRs will be lodged against the guilty and stringent action will be taken. Moreover, the persons found guilty will have to return the salary withdrawn to date during their tenure.
The process of issuing NOC will be made simpler for CBSE schools and the application form for the same will be accepted online. If the data provided by the school mismatches with the documents, no NOC will be issued for three years.
After collecting detailed data of the teachers from SAMS and the Skill Development department, the special analysis will be done for dropouts after analysing the high school certificate exams.
More efforts will be given for teachers' training and special programmes will be conducted by OSEPA for skill developments of the teachers.
