Bhubaneswar: In a big relief amid the COVID-119 crisis, the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has asked the higher educational institutions not to insist students on payment of full fee.
"Institutions should not insist on full fee payment and collect in 3-4 instalments till normalcy is restored," AICTE said in a new circular while directing colleges to display the same on their websites and communicate the information to students through e-mail.
On payment of salary to faculty members, AICTE said that there shall be no termination of faculty without enough disciplinary ground and due process of redressal.

“Salary and other dues to the faculty/ staff members be released monthly on time and also terminations, if any, made during the lockdown be withdrawn. This is to be complied strictly,” it said.
It further said that the educational institutions should discourage fake news. “Various interest groups/ individuals are circulating fake news on social media platforms thereby creating misinformation and rumours. Discouraging any such fake news and reporting the matter to concerned authorities would be prime responsibility of all stakeholders,” it said.
“It is also advised that any information published on the official website of MoE/ UGC/ AICTE only may be relied upon. Hence, these websites may be regularly perused for any updates. Similarly, for other government circulars, official websites of the concerned Ministries/Departments may be referred to,” it added.
