An unfortunate incident has once again brought Bihar into the limelight as scores of students in the state's Motihari district were forced to take their Class 12 exam on Tuesday evening under the headlights of vehicles.
The incident has been reported from Maharaja Harendra Kishore Singh College where the students had to write Hindi papers in the second sitting exam under the lights of cars.
As per reports, the exam was scheduled to be held from 1.45 pm to 5 pm, but it got delayed as the seating arrangement of the students was not made properly. To pacify irate parents, who had started shouting slogans against the district administration, some senior police officers reached the exam centre and brought the situation under control.
Soon after the video of the incident went viral on social media platforms, Bihar Education Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary told ANI, "During the examination, a special situation had arisen there, that's why that arrangement was made and instructions have also been given in that regard."
Meanwhile, the incident has left people fuming with several taking to social media platforms to condemn the state of affairs. "This puts us a back decades.. Hats off to the juggad by the cops. But literally this can't be image of 21st century for 3rd largest economy on GDP," wrote a Twitterati.
Another user wrote, "These ministers and the govt should feel shameful that whatever situation arose, they can't even arrange for a classroom with proper lights for Students to give exams."
